Above the main workbench there is a small black notebook, half-full. In it, every piece that has ever left the atelier is recorded. The entries are short — never more than two lines — and written in pencil.
The discipline of the two-line entry is, I think, the discipline of the work itself. If a lamp cannot be described in two lines, it has been over-made.
When the notebook fills, it will be replaced, and the old one will go on the shelf above. There are, so far, two on that shelf.
